Son Cubano is an upscale restaurant seeking an Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. Our culinary philosophy revolves around using the finest, quality ingredients available, updating our menus seasonally, and offering a diverse range of cuisine including traditional Cuban fare, celebrated classic and flavored "Mojitos," as well as steakhouse classics, exotic beef cuts, composed dishes, and fresh seafood from around the world. We take pride in our award-winning wine selection and creative homemade desserts crafted by our in-house pastry chefs.We believe in cultivating our employees to be the best in fine dining.
Responsibilities:
The Executive Chef is responsible for managing all kitchen activities, overseeing menu development, and ensuring culinary excellence. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of culinary experience in a fine dining and high-volume restaurant.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
Meal design preparation and planning.
Ensuring timely kitchen operations.
Monitoring and recording inventory, and ordering new supplies if necessary.
Providing support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
Recruiting and training new kitchen employees to meet restaurant and kitchen standards.
Creating schedules for kitchen employees and evaluating their performance.
Adhering to and implementing sanitation and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Food Safety Certificate
Proven experience in a fine dining establishment
Ability to manage an entire kitchen
Budgeting skills to control costs
Incredible food preparation abilities
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
Deep knowledge of fine dining and industry-leading trends
Impeccable time management skills
Creative menu knowledge and development skills
