Job Title: Application Engineer, Marine Infrastructure

About the role:
Abyss is looking for a client facing Application Engineer to work with our Marine Structure
customers. As an application engineer, your focus is on making sure the proposed value of our
product is realized by the customer. As the key liaison of the customer, you will play a critical role in
ensuring that our service delivery meets and exceeds the expectations of our clients. This includes,
but is not limited to, technical engineering review of results generated by automated systems,
understanding client requirements, maintaining the highest level of quality in line with customer
needs and organization standards, and prioritizing deliverables across teams to ensure timely and
accurate delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Account Management: Serve as the main point of contact for all client
interactions relating to service delivery, scheduling, and client-specific requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that existing processes are updated to satisfy both internal
standards as well as customer needs.
- Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive data analysis, interpret deliverables, and provide
meaningful insights to help clients understand the implications of the data for their
operations and strategic goals.
- Reporting and Communication: Create and deliver presentations, timelines, and progress
updates to keep all stakeholders informed about project status.
- Product Discovery: Collaborate with Product Team to incorporate client experience and
requests back into the software development roadmap.
- Internal Project Management: Drive timely delivery by following account projects and
deliverables as they progress through the processing pipeline.
- Client Advocacy: Serve as the voice of the client within the organization to ensure their
needs and concerns are adequately addressed in all decision-making processes.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and review SOPs to streamline processes
and enhance service delivery efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Civil or Mechanical preferred. An advanced degree would be
a plus.
- 1 to 5 years of engineering experience in structural engineering, infrastructure design, or oil &
gas.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly in creating presentations and reports.
- Experience with data visualization and ETL no-code/low code tools.
- Excellent understanding of project management principles and ability to manage multiple
tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present
complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality
work on schedule.
- Strong attention to quality assurance processes and standards.
