Our well-established surgical office is looking for a candidate who is looking to overhaul the current office workflow to optimize efficiency. This position covers multiple aspects of healthcare office operations.
Position responsibilities:
- Marketing practice and physicians in the locale. Implement marketing strategy to promote the growth of the practice.
- Analyzes practice expenses to manage and optimize the clinic budget.
- Uses computerized systems to match physician/clinician availability with patient preferences in terms of date and time. Assists in scheduling appointments for patients either by phone or in person after an office visit.
- Communicate with the patients regarding their surgery on a regular basis and follows any office procedures concerning patient communication.
- Maintains scheduling system so records are accurate and complete and can be used to analyze patient/staffing patterns. Provides daily schedules to physicians/clinicians, nurse navigators, and surgical assistants.
- Ensure that updates (e.g., cancellations or additions) are input daily into the master schedule.
- Maintains up-to-date provider schedules regarding vacations, meetings, and personal appointments.
- Communicate as needed with physicians/clinicians and other staff about any patient concerns/issues related to scheduling.
- Directs and leads office staff for optimal clinic efficiency.
- Maintains clinic appearance, responsible for ordering supplies, and stocking exam rooms.
- Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; chart prep; performing screenings per provider guidelines; assisting physicians/nurses with various procedures; chart entry; test ordering; test authorizing; refilling prescriptions and providing pertinent information.
- Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned that may include sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions as needed.
- Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms.
