Job Summary:
Nebraska Wellness Group is seeking Nurse Practitioner (APRN, NP) to lead our primary care services. The ideal candidate will manage both insured and direct primary care patients, providing comprehensive, high-quality care. Responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, along with coordinating care and maintaining accurate health records.
This role will be responsible for performing routine check-ups, managing chronic conditions, and providing patient education on preventive care. Responsibilities:
Patient Care Management:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide continuous and preventive care, focusing on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination of care.
Clinical Duties:
- Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses, injuries, and infections.
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform minor procedures as necessary, including suturing, wound care, and administering injections.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
Patient Education and Counseling:
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive measures.
- Provide guidance on lifestyle modifications, including diet, exercise, and smoking cessation.
Charting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely electronic health records (EHR) of all patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
- Review and update patient charts regularly to ensure continuity of care.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, specialists, nurses, and administrative staff, to provide integrated care.
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists and services as needed.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development and implementation of clinic policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Assist in managing clinic schedules, including patient appointments and follow-up visits.
Quality Improvement:
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.
- Participate in regular team meetings and case reviews to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated with the latest medical knowledge, treatments, and technologies through continuous education and professional development.
- Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and conferences.
Community Engagement:
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote health and wellness.
- Represent Nebraska Wellness Group at health fairs, seminars, and community events.
Insurance and Direct Primary Care Management:
- Manage both insured and direct primary care patients, ensuring adherence to insurance requirements and DPC agreements.
- Handle billing and coding for insurance claims and direct primary care plans.

Education and Qualifications:
· Educational Background:
- A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is required.
- Specialization in primary care, family practice, or adult-gerontology is preferred.
· Licensure and Certification:
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license in the state of Nebraska.
- National certification from a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Nurses Credentialing Center [ANCC] or American Association of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP).
· DEA Certification:
- Valid DEA certification for prescribing medications, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
· Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS):
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications, ensuring preparedness for emergency situations.
