Job Description:
Essential Functions

Provide medical and surgical office front desk support to Surgical practice

Greet patients, collect co-pays, answer telephones, schedule patient appointments and testing, ensure necessary referrals are in place, verify and update patient demographics into electronic health record.
- Escort patient to exam room for provider during clinic

Schedule appointments, ancillary testing and surgery

Request prior authorizations for medical procedures/diagnostic exams and surgery.
- Refer medical questions to appropriate sources (Physician, Manager, or Director. Prepare end of day cash/copay reports.
- Submit billing to our billing vendor with appropriate supporting documentation

Respond to billing companies requests for documentation or clarification of charges.
- Participate in special projects as identified by the Physician, Manager or Director
Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent

Proficiency with computers and medical terminology preferred
