Duties and Responsibilities:

Respond to emergencies and non-emergency calls, perform fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical duties as required; determine the proper course of action and follow orders under stressful conditions.

Operate emergency, fire, rescue, medical and life saving tools and equipment; assist and coordinate with law enforcement personnel and other responders as required.

Inspect and maintain Fire Department facilities, equipment and supplies; clean, repair and return equipment to service after use.

Assist in the maintenance of required departmental and emergency response records.
- Inspect and maintain personal protective equipment and assure that all equipment is in a state of readiness and available for immediate use.

Assist with inspection of buildings for fire hazards and compliance with fire prevention ordinances; may assist with fire investigations.

Assist with emergency medical and fire training, participate in public education, prevention and safety activities.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma, GED or equivalent & 21 years of age.

Must possess a current National Registry or Missouri paramedic's license, ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advance Life Support) or HandTevy Certification, PHTLS (Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support) or ITLS (International Trauma Life Support) certifications.
- Have a valid Driver's License.

Possess a current CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) Card by the time of employment offer.

Certification in Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazmat Awareness & Hazmat Operations by the State of Missouri and St. Louis County Fire Academy preferred but not required.
