In Balance Continuum is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the team to help facilitate the financial responsibilities for their therapeutic programs. In Balance has been on the cutting edge of addiction and mental health treatment of adults in our outpatient office and young men at our other program locations, for over 20 years. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and facilitating the financial operations of our organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to shareholders.
The Accounting Manager reports to the CEO and Board and is responsible for providing expertise in financial, project accounting, accounting services, and implementing company finance policy including:
- Managing, supervising and processing payroll, and internal controls related to Financial Reporting, Labor Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Project Accounting and Invoicing, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and Tax Compliance.
- Preparing timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting.
- Ensuring payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepares and performs bank reconciliations in Quickbooks Enterprise Desktop.
- Ensuring that Accounts Payable are reviewed, approved, properly accounted for, and paid in a timely manner.
- Managing the company's project accounting processes and ensuring that customer contract costs are properly accounted for, billed, and Accounts Receivable are collected according to payment terms.
- Working with the Board to ensure accounting processes are compliant with US Government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Supporting the Board in managing banking operations and internal controls over writing checks and approving wire transfers.
- Working with the Board to identify and implement accounting systems continuous improvement plans.
- Working with the Board and outside CPA to file accurate and timely tax returns.
- Preparing and filing timely sales and use tax returns and 1099 tax reporting.
- Managing and maintaining accurate files in support of Accounting Manager functional responsibilities.
- Providing ad hoc financial reports or related support as needed.
- Prepares and performs filing audits, licenses and other legally required documents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with 2 or more years of experience as an Accounting Manager for a company that provides services and manufactures products, or
- 3 or more years of experience as an Accounting Manager with completion of intermediate and advanced accounting coursework/similar certifications.
- Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

- Sales and Use Tax Reporting
- Corporate Tax Reporting
- 1099 Tax Reporting
- Payroll Processing
- Experience with integrated ERP Accounting Systems
- US government Cost Accounting (Accounting for Unallowable Costs)
- Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
- Strong Operational Skills and Experience
- U.S. citizenship
