Position: Manager, Driver Compliance
Job Description:
The Manager, Driver Compliance will be responsible for compliance with all FMCSA driver regulatory standards to include maintaining driver files. The Manager, Driver Compliance will be able to draw on tactical and strategic initiatives; and establish/maintain effective working relationships with Drivers, Independent Contractors, and Customers. This position reports directly to the Director of Safety.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards
- Manage and monitor FMCSA driver files.
- Manage driver corrective actions plan
- Coordinate safety activities and training to ensure implementation of safety awareness programs
- Facilitate communication and cooperation between management and employees on safety issues
- Provide direction on safety programs and procedures based on organizational goals and policies
- Generate reports for management review, identifying issues and reporting results
- Create, monitor, and implement safety policies and procedures
- Attend Safety seminars to stay current with FMCSA and OSHA Rules and Regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Five years of Safety Management experience in the transportation sector
- Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulatory requirements as they relate to the transportation industry
- Demonstrated ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion and meet various variable deadlines
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and managers
- Desire for a long-term career with an industry leading company
- Ability to present and maintain a positive corporate image in a fast-paced environment
- Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Experience leading, training and developing Safety awareness in a group of employees
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
Skills:
- The ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with AS400 operating systems is a plus
- Experience with Tenstreet recruiting system a plus
- Experience with FMCSA clearinghouse & driver medical certification a plus
- Experience reviewing transportation background reports
- Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus
