Description:
Job Summary:
An Electronics Engineer generates Specification Control Documents for product designs, provides engineering support to manufacturing, and recommends or makes enhancements to existing products. This person will also support the application engineering group which works closely with new and existing customers to specify and support our products. This person may interface with sales, customers, and vendors to provide proposals and quotes for custom encoder designs or modifications.
Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and resolve new or reoccurring manufacturing issues of technical products

Research manufacturing techniques to support assigned projects
-
Develop technical expertise on all assigned products
-
Improve test protocols, work instructions and production fixtures
-
Design for manufacturability
-
Participate as a member of technical review boards for applicable projects
-
Resolve Engineering Change Requests (ECR)
-
Understand and conduct work practices in compliance with current quality system
-
Work closely with Quality to reduce internal and external quality failures
Requirements:
Skills:
-
Circuit design of analog, digital, and mixed signal devices. Microprocessors and software development experience is desirable
-
Design of components used in optical encoders such as custom optical sensors, and disks. ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits), microelectronics, and optical experience is desirable

Ability to lead large projects
-
Ability to communicate independently and effectively with all levels of management
-
Good communication and organizational skills
-
Persistence to meet schedules
Qualifications:
-
BS degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering required
-
Coursework in Design for Manufacturability and/or Mechatronics is a plus
