Role Description:
St. Peter’s Montessori seeks a full-time Elementary School Teacher to lead our lower elementary classroom during the 2024-25 school year. Montessori experience is preferred, but this position also welcomes elementary teachers with teaching credentials issued in any state, who are open to using Montessori methodology and who share the goals, vision, and mission of our school. A supplemental curriculum is available for support. AMI/AMS certified teachers can design their own curriculum. Room enrollment is expected to be around 15-20 students at 1st grade – 3rd grade level. The elementary teacher is responsible for teaching students under the methods and guidance of Maria Montessori through a Montessori-based curriculum program (provided) while adhering to state benchmarks related to academic subjects, such as reading, writing and arithmetic, as well as creating lesson plans, grading assignments, and communicating with parents. The elementary teacher is also responsible for creating a safe and positive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching certification for elementary education
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and individually
- Demonstrated ability to create a positive learning environment
- All candidates must have received the COVID vaccine and successfully pass a background check for consideration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching elementary students in a Montessori environment or demonstrated knowledge of Montessori principles equivalent to hands-on experience
