Everas Community Services, Inc is a leading non-profit who has been supporting individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities in the community for over 40 years. Our services include Residential, Employment, Behavioral Support and Recreation. We have programs in Bergen, Essex, Union, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Hudson and Passaic counties. The Director of Training is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization’s employees through training and compliance with all regulatory entities. As the Director of Training, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the development and delivery of training programs for our dedicated workforce. You will work closely with our Leadership team to identify training needs, design curriculum and implement strategies to enhance the skills and knowledge of our workforce. You will lead efforts to ensure that our team members possess the knowledge, skills, and compassion necessary to deliver exceptional support and care to individuals with I/DD. You will supervise Training Coordinators and oversee instruction of employees on best practices to ensure Everas’ mission is accomplished throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for improving the productivity of the organization’s employees through training and compliance with all regulatory entities.
- Oversee education and instruction of employees on best practices to ensure Everas’ mission is accomplished throughout the organization.
- Responsible for meeting established department performance metrics.
- Provide leadership in the development of training improvement initiatives.
- Develop and ensure all agency training courses and requirements are compliant with Everas quality standards and state and federal contract regulations.
- Supervise, train and evaluate the Training Coordinator(s) and Trainers.
- Approve, oversee and periodically observe and provide feedback to Trainers.
- Oversee or directly coordinate the scheduling and instruction of all Everas training courses.
- Demonstrate and participate in the training of staff to ensure employee development, performance and satisfactory implementation of service delivery, by providing feedback to staff and supervisors and as a classroom trainer and as a supervisor of the Training Department.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of all trainings offered at Everas to ensure Director is capable to train new trainers or teach classes if needed as back-up.
- Participate in program visits to observe, provide feedback and coordinate and/or provide directly additional training based on staff performance and client support needs.
- Continuously evaluate the needs of the agency to ensure training courses are offered at sufficient frequency and with varying times and locations and schedule additional trainings as needed.
- Ensure all Everas trainings reflect policies and procedures regarding the delivery of direct client care including health and safety, medication administration, recreation, transportation, documentation and other services as dictated by client needs and fulfillment of service outcomes.
- Complete routine reviews of training database; monitor and ensure the accuracy of files and record keeping systems for the training department are always up to date, oversee suspension and return to work clearances according to Everas requirements.
Experience/Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related field with at least 4 years of experience in employee training and development OR a Master's degree preferred with 2 years related experience.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Ability to pass all background check requirements
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Willingness to learn
- Valid NJ Driver's License
- Ability to complete all required trainings including, but not limited to, CPR, ASL, etc.
- Preference will be given to people with experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities
