Primary Responsibilities
- Overseeing the daily administration tasks to ensure maximum system performance and availability. This includes monitoring ticket queues and project tasks to ensure prompt assignment and engagement.
- Performing installation, maintenance and tuning of network appliances; Palo Alto and ASA firewalls, F5s, routers, and switches.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to proactively address performance or capacity constraints.
- Act as the team escalation point to field technical questions and guide the proper configuration of devices.
- Perform periodic hardware and software system maintenance.
- Keeping SAS leadership informed as to issues, needed changes, and performance of the network environment.
- Managing ticket queues for the Network team
- Manage and support new technologies as adopted by the business.
- Represent the Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both external and internal customers.
- Support and adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Education and Experience
- Any network certifications a plus
- Advanced level of technical experience and the ability to understand overall system architecture and design, the interactions of software, hardware, and user activity to be able to troubleshoot problems across all subsystems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- Cisco routing/switch certifications preferred; CCNP and higher certifications.
- F5 experience required.
- Firewall (Palo Alto and Cisco ASA) experience required.
- A deep knowledge of network technologies and the interoperation of devices is required. This includes a combination of networking technologies, such as,
- Routing protocols (BGP and EIGRP)
- Micro and VLAN segmentation of different application tiers
- Firewall administration.
- IPSEC VPN creation, support, and troubleshooting
- Excellent network troubleshooting skills are required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a senior network engineer with experience supervising/managing team members.
- Experience with public Cloud platforms is required; Google Could Platform is preferred.
- Must be able to create written documents that effectively present recommendations, an analysis of problems or communicate the status of the system.
- Must have knowledge of and the ability to apply Project Management Methodologies while delivering solutions.
- Must have demonstrated the ability to resolve conflict, work in a team setting, effectively problem solve, make appropriate decisions, communicate orally and in written form effectively, and accomplish results.
- Experience with vendor evaluation and selection based on documented needs analysis.
- Creating and regularly maintaining capacity and EOSL documentation for the networking environment.
- Personal Computer knowledge
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Keyboard/typing skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Pay is in the range of $106,152 - $169,024 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
