The K-5 Art Instructor will help students as both individuals and groups, will foster an appreciation of art and provide a joyful and supportive learning environment for art development. Candidates should be energetic and progressive minded, with a willingness to work collaboratively with grade level teams.
Job responsibilities include:
- Planning of unit lessons and curriculum that aligns with the Colorado State Standards and Core Knowledge Curriculum
- Instruction of elementary school art classes (grades K-5) with enthusiasm, creativity, and sensitivity to student learning styles.
- Utilize technology for instructing students, maintaining records, communicating information to parents, and promoting student and music program achievements
- Classroom management, utilizing a school wide positive behavior support model
- Commitment to professional growth through participation in professional learning communities and development opportunities
Preferred Skills & Characteristics:
- Thorough understanding of the curricular elements of Elementary art education
- Applicants should possess a love of art, teaching, and children as well as the desire to nurture and shape the lives of young artists.
- Appreciation of the developmental and age characteristics of the students in each grade
- A passion for teaching Elementary school children and helping them to achieve their fullest potential
- Enthusiasm for the mission of the school and for working collaboratively with all staff

Community Leadership Academy is located just north of downtown Denver in Commerce City, Colorado. As a community located in the beautiful Rocky Mountain area and just a short 15-minute drive to the heart of downtown Denver, Commerce City has easy access to all the conveniences of a metropolitan city with the small-town feel.
Requirements:
- 36 credit hours in Art or valid Colorado teaching license with Art endorsement.
- Specific knowledge of subject assigned;
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Previous teaching experience preferred or other work with children.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,500.00 - $55,500.00 per year
