Job Description:
Supervision of all clinical care performed by the nursing and technologist staff according to the policies and objectives of the Surgery Center. Analyzes and evaluates nursing services to maintain standards of care and to improve the quality of care. Responsible for education of nursing personnel. May delegate responsibilities and duties to personnel, both professional and non-professional. Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing and Administrator (as needed), Nurse Manager is responsible for the coordination of nursing care and services for perioperative patients. Provides day to day operation of the facility, adjusts schedules and supervises staff.
Job Duties:
- Plan, organize, manage and evaluate nursing and ancillary staff in the provision of patient services to ensure that optimum quality and quantity of patient service is consistent with policies and regulatory agencies.
- Assist the nursing staff to assess patients and family needs, to determine priority for services and to develop plans to meet these needs and evaluate the effectiveness of the plans
- Offer direction, guidance and consultation to staff to ensure functioning within their level of competence
- Responsible for orientation, supervision, disciplining, evaluation and development of assigned personnel.
- Evaluates and interprets the surgery Centers policies and objectives to ensure compliance and consistent quality of care
- Assists physicians in procedures/operations through provision of an adequate, qualified staff
- Reviews the schedule daily and confirms the assignment of clinical staff.
- Ensures adequate available personnel to provide good patient care as directed by the Surgery Center’s standards and policies
- Assists Director of Nursing in recruiting and hiring new clinical staff members for Gramercy Surgery Center
- Works alongside other departments to evaluate needs and trends and implements changes as needed.
- Oversees and assists in clinical in-services set up, in conjunction with, the chief surgical tech to maximize learning opportunities.
- Conducts weekly huddles with Director of Nursing, charge nurses, chief surgical technologists and the materials manager to review cases, specialty items, staffing issues and scheduling conflicts in regards to equipment.
- Works alongside Director of nursing to conduct performance evaluations and efficiency reports on clinical personnel.
- Responsible for working with Chief Surgical Technologist andMaterials Manager in reaching out to new surgeons that come to our center in anticipation of their cases to ensure all necessary supplies and equipment has been secured for cases.
- Responsible for maintaining AAAHC compliance, logs and necessary documentation.
Regulatory Duties:
- Performs monthly audits of the centers for compliance regarding the Medicare Condition of Coverage standards with the Director of Nursing and Chief of Operations.
- Oversees hospital transfers and coordinates with the receiving facility and ensures all documentation and incident reporting has been completed accordingly.
- Coordinates information for the AAAHC accreditation and works with surveyors during the accreditation visits to the center, scheduled or unscheduled.
- Works with the DOH surveyors during accreditation visits to the center, scheduled or unscheduled.
- Reports all regulatory compliance issues to the Director of Nursing and Medical advisory board
- Works alongside Chief surgical tech in scheduling in-services on new procedures for clinical staff.
- Reviews and tracks incident reports as they occur at the center
- Oversees and investigates infection and complication tracking for the center
- Assists in reporting the Quality Measures for Medicare
Qualifications:
- BSN (Preferred)
- Must have Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience.
- Management experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in catheterization and IV insertion
- Strong background in supervising and leading healthcare teams
- Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems
- Demonstrated ability in patient care and physiology knowledge

Pay: $52.00 - $60.00 per hour
