Position Summary: Repkon USA is, at its core, an engineering firm dedicated to the advancement of novel manufacturing solutions in the commercial, defense, and aerospace industries. We are always looking for new ideas and people who are passionate about their craft. Repkon USA is looking for a highly regarded, accomplished, and inspirational engineer to be our CTO. The CTO will be responsible for building and developing a team of engineers across the major disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, and Software Engineering). Leadership, reputation, and enthusiastic passion for the craft are vital attributes for the CTO position.
The CTO will be responsible for inspiring and developing a full-service engineering team. The CTO will recruit, inspire, and lead a team of well-rounded ambitious engineers capable of contributing to each of our business lines. The team will be responsible for bringing about i.) resolutions to manufacturing issues and product concerns, ii.) new ideas that improve what we do or introduce new product lines, and iii.) novel efficiencies and methods in manufacturing. The CTO will prepare engineers that are creative, innovative, collaborative and work for practical repeatable and manufacturable solutions.
The CTO will also establish and foster meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with academia and institutions that are near our geographic locations. We believe in finding early-stage talent and fostering growth through diverse and challenging experiences with mentors in the craft. We aim to establish mutually beneficial internship programs and joint projects with academic institutions for engineering students and faculty. Additionally, we desire a CTO that is involved in the industry and continues to research and publish as they seek additional learning opportunities.
This role requires strategic vision, strong leadership skills, appreciation of cost-benefit analysis in the engineering process, collaboration, and a deep understanding of market trends and customer needs along with experience with IRAD and CRAD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering/Technical Leadership: Develop a world class engineering organization covering all the various disciplines of engineering needed to drive the state of the art and innovation requirements throughout the portfolio of products, services and offerings. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of a broad scope of complex and innovative engineering solutions and new technologies. Develop and implement engineering strategies, objectives, milestones, and deliverables. Provides expertise and guidance on projects, proposals, operations, and systems. Supports team to leads engineering projects including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management. Ensure alignment with customer requirements and company goals. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Engineering Development: Recruit, develop, and lead a team of engineers across disciplines to form a cohesive, innovative team to provide engineering services and products to the Company.
- Engineering Outreach: Establish mutually beneficial relationships with academia and engineering students; create programs and support efforts in higher education consistent with the aims and values of the Company; continue to research and learn.
- Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders. Provides Engineering solutions to meet customer expectations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Strategic Leadership: Creates technology roadmap for organization. Maintains knowledge of emerging trends, develops team capabilities to support current and future initiatives. Creates mutually beneficial connections with local engineering schools to develop strategic relationships and pipelines of talent. Helps organization identify mergers and acquisitions targets.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the engineering team. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, creates followership, and understands the importance of creating an environment in which team can flourish and drive innovation. Provide guidance, support, and software/hardware for team members to achieve program objectives.
- Financial Management: Establish and administer the engineering budgets and financial forecasts, including IRAD and CRAD. Track program expenses and ensure financial targets are on track. Identify and implement continual improvement and cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Risk Management: support the identification, assessment and mitigation of program or system risks and issues. Develop and implement risk management plans and contingency strategies. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements. Has or develops contacts with agencies or institutions to provide talent, testing, simulation, modeling, and analysis when necessary.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and deliver regular program status reports to senior management and customers. Requires presenting at both internal and external meetings, with government officials, Repkon Leadership, and various technical teams in Türkiye, Europe and the US.
- Represent Repkon USA brand to external customers.
- Act with integrity, work collaboratively, meet commitments, and apply continual improvement methodologies in all work.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering field.
- 20+ years of experience in Engineering/Technology/Innovation and leadership in metal machining, munitions design, machine technology, and energetics manufacturing.
- Proven leadership of technical teams in a high-tech environment.
- Extensive knowledge and practical implementation of engineering principles and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers, and ability to quickly understand and summarize complex issues, and express complex ideas and technology in terms that can be understood by non-technical audience.
- Knowledgeable of emerging technologies and trends related to our industry.
- Proven experience supporting proposal development and managing a broad and diverse scope of complex engineering/technology/innovation projects within budget, including program wins.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite: Ability to create project and milestone charts, and use data and create value added presentations to report updates, status reports, etc.
- Solid technical understanding of architecture components. Knowledgeable and proficient with engineering related software and hardware.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD degree preferred – in Engineering field, an additional MBA a plus
- Experience with Energetics related programs.
Other Requirements:
- Travel: Up to 50%, to support other locations manufacturing sites, suppliers and customers.
- Work Environment: Office work environment.
