A Successful Estimating Candidate:
- Review project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to understand the scope of work.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Conduct on-site visits to assess existing conditions and identify potential challenges.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to prepare detailed project estimates.
- Utilize estimating software and databases to generate precise cost projections.
- Prepare and present comprehensive bid proposals to clients, including breakdowns of costs and timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documentation.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory requirements related to plumbing construction.
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with procurement and project management teams to ensure seamless transition from estimation to project execution.
Qualifications:
- Must have excellent Microsoft Office Skills, specifically Word and Excel
- Proven experience as a Plumbing Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of plumbing systems and practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of estimating software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards
