As a Lead Warehouse Associate, you will play a critical role in the daily operations of our warehouse, focusing on the handling and management of heavy construction equipment parts and machinery. You will lead a team of warehouse associates, ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of our valuable machinery. This position will be reporting to branch manager directly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities, including the receipt, storage, and shipment of heavy construction equipment's and parts.
- Implement and enforce consistent operational procedures to ensure efficient inventory control and high service quality.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff, promoting a culture of safety and teamwork.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, including inspections and maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to optimize warehouse operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and implementing preventative measures.
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment, such as forklifts and cranes, with a focus on safety and care.
- Manage space allocation and layout planning, adapting to inventory needs.
- Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- Five years or more proven experience as a warehouse lead or supervisor, preferably in the construction equipment sector.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and databases.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage teams.
- A valid forklift and heavy machinery operation license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or relevant field is a plus.
