SRT is seeking a Network Engineer Manager to join and oversee our Network Engineering team. The Network Engineer Manager manages the planning and engineering, including but not limited to central office switching systems, transport systems, video systems, and associated equipment and duties. Manages the design and engineering of technical equipment and projects in support of the sales and marketing department and the technical and administrative support in the area of special access to the SRT network.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manages the work group that engages in providing the best quality, lowest cost, state-of-the-art telecommunications services to our business and residential customers.
- Provides technical and administrative supervision / support to the Network engineering group.
- Provides cost effective management of departmental resources, including but not limited to, capital budget, operating budget, and personnel.
- Oversees the planning, evaluating, and coordination of new equipment and the installation of equipment with the SRT network.
- Oversees the coordination and the activities between the Network Engineering group and other workgroups internally and externally.
- Gathers, interprets, and analyzes information to make the best possible recommendation as to the future technical direction of the company.
- Oversees the planning, evaluating, and coordination of new equipment installations at the customer premises by the Network Engineering group.
- Oversees and monitors contract installations and collaborates with the team to coordinate with contractors and/or consulting engineers.
- Functions as an integral part of the department and works effectively within the Network Technology group, Business Sales, Accounting (CPR’s), Regulatory Affairs and the Field Operations department.
- Assists the CTO in the development of the capital and operating budgets.
- Attends lectures, seminars, formal training classes, etc. to maintain knowledge of current and future telecommunications industry practices and products.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- The ability to manage, engineer, and coordinate central office, transmission, remote offices and private line service equipment installations and testing.
- Project manpower requirements in order to complete installation projects on time and the ability to control department capital and operating expenses.
- Proficiency in the use of computer tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, Intranet, Groupwise, iVUE, and other project planning software.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills to provide technical support to others, provide supervision and direction to employees, to communicate internally through written technical updates, prepare and present proposals to customers, and assist in coordination of projects with affected areas of the company and other entities outside the company as well.
- A strong knowledge of communications networking architectures and the technical aptitude and analytical skills to understand the network and engineer the best possible solutions.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- 2-year technical degree preferred.
- 3-5 years’ telecommunications industry experience preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of on-the-job training would be needed to gain knowledge of SRT’s network, technologies, policies and procedures.
