Kent Quality Foods, a premier manufacturer of specialty meat products, is seeking an experienced professional to perform the role of Process Engineer. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Developing Processes & Continuous Improvement - Deploying KQF strategic methodologies, systems, and tools, such as Process Optimization, Autonomous Maintenance, Reliability Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Problem Solving, and Process Mapping to deliver site OEE and cost savings goals.

Designs methods for maintaining or increasing production levels while improving production costs, yields, Quality, and Safety.

Troubleshoots process problems and identifies solutions which reduce downtime and maintenance costs.

Monitors process equipment to identify potential errors and develops solutions to eliminate the re-occurrence of those problems.

Develops project specifications by making calculations, preparing process flow diagrams (PFD's), piping and instrumentation drawings (P&ID's), site and floor plans, elevation drawings, utilities matrices, and other project documentation as applicable.

Interfaces with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.

Assist the Plant Managers(s) on any task or project deemed necessary by them, including helping to problem solve any issues.

Assist the Process Engineers at both plants as needed on projects, problem solving, troubleshooting or CI activity. Direction from Plant Managers.
THERMAL PROCESSING FOCUS
This role will be the lead on our most critical food-safety control or thermal processing (cooking) of food production. It this function the following tasks will be essential.

Optimization of current cooking and chilling processes.

Establishing cooking and chilling programs for new products.

Review of documentation related to the cooking and chilling of products.

Establish SOP's and job breakdown documentation related to cooking and chilling processes.

Quarterly oven validations as required along with proper documentation.

Work with Continuous Improvement teams, R&D, Program Management, Plant Managers, along with Meat Scientist, on any oven / chiller changes / modifications.

Assist operations with full production shrinks with a scheduled frequency and as needed with proper documentation.

Oven balancing will be in conjunction of oven validation exercise, or as needed based on product performance.

Collaborate with IT to continuously improve and automate CCP data collection.

Help train other(s) on how to do this job, when necessary.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience required

5+ years of work experience in an engineering role, preferably with thermal processing experience

Design and layout skills, including knowledge of CAD/design software

Skilled in Manufacturing Methodologies/ Procedures, Process Improvements, Documentation Skills, and Safety Management
