The Culture & Engagement Coordinator is an important part-time role within the Wurkwel HR department with a responsibility to cultivate a positive workplace culture of engagement by creating and executing on initiatives that promote Wurkwel’s core values and our dedication to charitable giving. This position will be the main resource focused on developing, planning and coordinating events, outings, learning educational activities, and change management strategies focused on infusing culture essentials into all programs. As a key member of the team, you will utilize your past HR experience to champion the company’s mission and broader HR vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Engagement
- Recommend and develop organizational teaching tools, flexible training activities, and processes directed at employee engagement.
- Coordinate training and leadership development programs and events to ensure continuous development individually and as an organization.
- Create learning opportunities and forums regarding cultural proficiencies to build an environment where everyone is given an opportunity to be successful.
- Monitor effectiveness of special programs or projects and uses the findings in planning, developing, and implementing new or modified training and engagement programs.
- Develop and implement goals, policies, training, tools, change strategies, and accountability structures associated with employee engagement.
- Recommend programs and technologies that make it easier to work, give recognition, and support cross-functional collaboration.
- Engage in consistent internal communication to drive successful culture transformation and change management.
- Partner with fellow department teammates to build out the plan focusing on the organization’s culture, engagement, retention, capability, and capacity.
- Manage & improve engagement on the company’s website, LinkedIn page, Glassdoor, and other comparable websites.
- Lead the organization in the development, planning and coordination of employee activities and events, as well as any support needed during the activities or events.
- Ensure required staff and materials are available and prepared for events or activities.
- Assist in developing a budget for culture-supporting activities & events
- Ensure company funds are used effectively and efficiently for the improvement of company morale and the development of employee relationships.
- Evaluate the success of each activity, event, or outing and identify opportunities for improvement in the future.
- Organize company's annual award program and coordinates award presentations and celebrations.
- Assist with the planning of external lunch & learn type of events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors used in events, activities, and outings.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in human resources, corporate event planning, or a related field is required.
- Knowledge of applying employee engagement strategies and the ability to consult with management and staff are required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and to create consensus-based support.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Exceptional presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strategic with sound problem-solving ability.
- Team player who is energetic and proactive with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency with MS Word, Excel (advanced knowledge preferred), Outlook, and other MS Office applications.
- Thorough understanding of event planning practices and techniques.
