Optometric Technician
**Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting optometrists in providing quality eye care services to our patients. **Responsibilities**
- Prepare patients for examinations by gathering medical history and explaining procedures.
- Perform preliminary tests on patients such as auto-refraction and measuring visual acuity.
- Conduct diagnostic tests including visual field, OCT, and retinal imaging.
- Instruct patients in proper handling, insertion and removal, and wear of contact lenses.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Assist with front desk duties including checking patients in and out and collecting payments.
- Assist with optical duties such as frame selection, len measurements, dispensing, and adjustments as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of equipment and exam rooms.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in an optometry or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in using and understanding optical concepts.
- Familiarity with regulations and patient privacy practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
