Seeking a highly motivated individual looking to advance their career as a CPA/Accountant with tax experience in a local CPA Firm. The right individual must have strong technical skills and be able to work independently, manage workflow with tight deadlines. This position will have interaction with clients, therefore must be professional and have strong interpersonal communication skills.
This is an ideal position for a public accountant with 4 or more years of experience who is seeking growth potential.
Responsibilities/Qualifications
· Prepare federal and state individual, corporate and partnership returns, along with required quarterly estimated payments.
· Prepare quarterly payroll tax, sales tax and various other filings as needed.
· Provide and maintain proper documentation to support tax return calculations.
· Have knowledge of tax laws and ability to research tax issues and document findings effectively.
· Prepare accounting entries and adjustments. Reconcile general ledger accounts and financial statements for accuracy. Maintain accounting work papers documenting work performed.
· Prepare and analyze general ledger and financial statements for closely held companies and non-profits for financial reporting purposes using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles or tax returns.
· Attention to detail and possess strong analytical and organizational skills. Prioritize work according to filing deadlines and workflow demands. Maintain organized and neat work areas so that work can be easily reviewed by others.
· Represent the Firm in a positive light by maintaining a professional demeanor, dress, and attitude at all times. Have a strong desire to maintain a client service approach focused on exceeding expectations in all areas.
· Team player with desire to be an active participant within the organization. Follow established procedures, but suggest innovative, efficient ideas where appropriate.
· Minimal travel to client sites required.
· Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to listen effectively.
Experience
4 or more years recent experience in tax preparation and accounting in a public accounting setting.
Software
Must have strong technology skills and be proficient with all aspects of Quickboooks Desktop and Online versions. Microsoft Office. Working knowledge and experience with ProSystem fx Tax a plus.
Education
Bachelors degree in accounting
Masters degree in accounting a plus
CPA license, or demonstrated ambition to obtain CPA certification.
Compensation:
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000 - $110,000 per year.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
