Position:
Behavior Support Specialist

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates and/or Bachelor’s Degree recommended; or equivalent applicable experience
- Experience with behavior intervention techniques
- Trained in or willing to be trained in non-violent crisis interventions
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to problem solve
Essential Functions:
- Able to assist with the development and implementation of classroom and individual behavior plans
- Able to deescalate student who are in a state of crisis
- Meet with students whose behavior warrants intervention and develop individualized behavior tracking and intervention programs
- Work with staff on issues such as: crisis intervention, learning and collaboration issues, and factors that can affect development and implementation of interventions
- Maintain timely and accurate records and files consistent with department policies and procedures
- Able to provide one on one support to students
- Able to provide group support to students
- Maintains strong communication with families and staff
