National Electrostatics Corp is looking for an Electronics Design Engineer who is responsible for high voltage design, testing, troubleshooting, documenting, and interfacing electronics components for accelerator system hardware.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is required.
- 2+ years of experience in electrical power and/or design is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Frequently required to work in uncomfortable or confined workspaces during installation.
- Ability to perform operations of manual dexterity, lifting, bending, crouching, squatting, twisting, and reaching overhead.
- Standing for prolonged periods of time during installation.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuits.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with PCB design practices and software, Altium preferred.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Sound knowledge of design standards, engineering principles, and best practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate electronics, cabling, and control system hardware engineering for machine systems or upgrades while consulting with other responsible departments.
- Install and test high voltage systems and control electronics.
- Specify and order OEM electronics for contracts.
- Design electronics for new applications and ensure best design practices are followed.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems and components.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies to maintain design integrity and enhance product performance.
- Write product requirements, engineering specifications, test/assembly specifications, and work closely with manufacturing to move designs into production.
- Address customer complaints, production issues, and part obsolescence as it relates to engineering design.
- Create QA documentation for electrical projects and OEM electronics.
- Liaison with other engineers to ensure projects are completed to specifications and on time.
- Prepare and present design documentation for internal and external customers’ review.
- Create and deliver concise technical summary reports to customers.
