We are currently interviewing for an experienced Tenant Improvement Superintendent/Supervisor to join our team for long-term employment. We see the superintendent/supervisor as an integral part of our management team and as such the right attitude and representation of our company is as important as specific skill sets.
Our superintendents are “Bags-On” supers.
Description:
The superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day field operations, including safety. The superintendent must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the consultants and clients while successfully directing the subcontractors and other construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule and budget. The superintendent will work closely with the project manager, providing continual updates and fulfill an integral role on the project. The Superintendent must be professional, and a personable leader committed to the overall objective and self-development within the company.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of Commercial/Retail field construction experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Thorough understanding of building construction means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills both oral and written.
- Must be tactful in all communications.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret all necessary construction plans, blueprints and documents.
- Ability to write thorough, complete and timely reports and business correspondence and effectively communicate ideas and concepts in writing.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations including algebra and geometry.
- Proficient computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Available to work flexible hours, average of 40+ hours per week standard, or as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Shifts can be 8-10 hours/day (40 hours/week)
- Frequent lifting, occasional carrying up to 100 lbs.
- Ladder work up to 30 ft and/or scaffolding work on complete building elevations
- Occasional work in tight spaces.
