Position Details:
The full-time instructor will assist the Program Dean or designee at the Altamonte Springs campus. a campus with activities within the Nursing department to deliver to students program curricula; recommending the purchasing of supplies and equipment; performance assessment; developing community contacts and assist with the advisory board meetings; teaching program courses as needed according to specified learning outcomes; academic advising and career related counseling for students; monitoring student retention and identifying and assist at-risk students; effective teaching strategies and assessment methods; and providing support for program and institutional initiatives. This position plays a key role of the quality and compliance of education. Instructors are responsible for preparing students to pass the NCLEX exam.
Must be familiar with the Florida Board of Nursing as the school is an accredited institution, and recognized by the Board of Nursing for its Nursing program. ACEN accreditation experience is helpful along with knowledge of ATI & Pearson. This full-time position requires a dynamic, organized, strategic thinker with great creativity, excellent communication skills and a passion for education. Required Educational Background and Experience:
- A master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the discipline to be taught, with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline (required for BSN Program)
- Bachelor’s degree will be considered (ASN only)
- Current CPR Basic Life Support certification
- Registered Nurse license, active, valid, and unencumbered state licensure in FL
- For clinical: Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience at an ASN or BSN level
- For theory: Minimum 2 years nursing experience teaching at an ASN or BSN level
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with students and faculty.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Computer-based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills) and experience with computerized learning management systems.
