JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director of Operations - Regional Trucking is responsible for handling all aspects of the Regional Trucking division including directing driver & shop operations, network planning and optimization, and customer service. The Director of Operations - Regional Trucking will serve as a role model to drive culture through team development, improve performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through effective methods and strategies.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Director of Operations - Regional Trucking must interact daily with management as well as customers and employees. They must be approachable and always present a professional appearance and positive attitude when dealing with all internal and external individuals.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in planning and execution of strategic goals and initiatives for the Regional Trucking Division
- Develop and manage the annual budget and be accountable for the profit and loss of regional trucking.
- Oversite of regional trucking and maintenance shop operations for WSW Logistics and McDonald Companies
- Develop and champion a sustained employee development plan
- Keep and maintain schedule of projects, along with project status
- Lead the maintenance shop to ensure all equipment is in working condition and within all DOT regulations
- Maintain customer satisfaction rating of 95%, or better

- Attend all meetings associated with transportation related topics
- Communicate effectively with customers and respond to their requests quickly
- Coordinate maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment continually improving the process to include preventative maintenance measures
- Continually finding ways to improve asset utilization
- Monitor all transportation costs, with an emphasis on direct divisional costs
- Coordinate with Safety and HR on CDL Compliance
- Ensure employees understand their duties and delegated tasks
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback or recognition when necessary
- Handle all employee complaints & resolve problems
- Involved in all hiring and firing decisions of department employees
- Ability to be on call during nights and weekends
- All other duties as needed or assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 8+ years or more experience in transportation industry
- 5+ years’ experience in a management role, preferable in the transportation/fleet maintenance industry
- CDL driving experience preferred, but not required
- Good people management and coordination skills, willingness to grow and mentor team members
- Ability to handle customers and employees in a calm, diplomatic way and always remain positive
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attentive and timely in responses
- Good follow up and ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong computer skills in MS Office software (Outlook, Excel and Word).

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
