Capture & Proposal Manager
Job Summary
The Capture & Proposal Manager plays a pivotal role in the success of our business by leading the capture and proposal development processes for civilian federal government opportunities. This position is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities, as well as managing the development of winning proposals. The successful candidate will have a strong background in federal government contracting, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a proven track record of successful capture and proposal management.
Responsibilities
Capture Management:
- Identify and assess business opportunities within various government agencies.
- Maintain an opportunity pipeline of 3 – 5 years with an average annual pipeline value of $100M.
- Develop and execute capture plans, including win strategies, competitive analysis and teaming strategies.
- Participate in pricing conversations.
Proposal Management:
- Lead and coordinate the entire proposal development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with government requirements and deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including technical, financial, and subject matter experts, to develop compelling and compliant proposals.
- Manage the proposal schedule, resources, and milestones to meet submission deadlines.
Team Collaboration:
- Foster collaboration and communication among internal teams and external partners to ensure a cohesive and competitive proposal.
- Work closely with business development, program management, and other stakeholders to align strategies and messaging.
Market Analysis:
- Stay informed about industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform capture and proposal strategies.
- Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities and risks.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry partners, and subcontractors.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and sit and stand for various periods through the workday.
Work Environment: REMOTE! Work will be conducted in your home office and, at times, in an office environment; this position may require occasional business travel as deemed necessary for conferences and customer meetings.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in federal government contracting with a focus on capture and proposal management. Preference given to candidates with experience in Department of Veterans Affairs acquisitions.
- Proven track record of successful capture and proposal wins.
- Strong understanding of the federal procurement process and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong preference given for candidates with Shipley training and/or APMP certification.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
