Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Development Officer (CDO) to lead our community outreach and development efforts. The CDO will be responsible for implementing our community development strategic plan, fostering positive relationships with community members and organizations, and driving membership growth. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of community dynamics, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Planning and Development:
- Create and execute a strategic plan to generate new membership leads.
- Collaborate with community leaders and Human Resource contacts to increase credit union penetration within organizations.
- Drive penetration, membership, and optimize credit union services within existing member groups.
- Work with Branch Managers and Marketing to devise strategies for membership growth in local communities.
Outreach:
- Maintain touchpoints through educational seminars, member-employee meet and greets, health fairs, and community events.
- Cultivate relationships with the Chamber of Commerce by attending networking events.
- Represent the Credit Union at SEG and community outreach events.
- Identify and recruit new employment groups and establish partnerships with community groups and associations.

- Attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Willingness to travel locally and occasionally non-locally (up to 75% of the time) with a valid driver's license.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in a financial institution, preferably credit unions.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Independent work style with the ability to complete assignments within given parameters.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
