SWA is seeking Bladers/Bucket Technicians for upcoming winter outages!
- Pay: $30 - $45 hr ( will be based on experience, skills, and certifications)
- Per Diem: Will vary per client and location
- Shift: 7 - 12's
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must pass drug test and background check prior to starting!
- OSHA 10
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the repair, maintenance, and installation of various types of mechanical equipment is necessary. This prior experience provides a solid foundation for understanding the intricacies of blade repair and installation processes.
- Blueprint Reading: Familiarity and experience in reading blueprints are essential to accurately interpret technical specifications and follow established procedures for blade removal, installation, and modification.
- Hand and Power Tool Proficiency: Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools is necessary for successful blade repairs and installations. You should be comfortable and skilled in handling these tools effectively and safely.
- Precision Measurement Instruments: Knowledge and ability to use precision measuring instruments associated with turbine repairs are crucial for ensuring accurate fitment and alignment of blades and components.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Blade Removal and Installation: As a Blader/Bucket Technician, your primary responsibility is the safe and efficient removal and installation of various blades on rotating equipment. You will follow established procedures and blueprints to ensure proper alignment and fitment.
- Blade Preparation: Before installation, you will prepare blades by performing tasks such as sandblasting, cleaning, and other necessary surface treatments. This ensures the blades are in optimal condition for installation and operation.
- Blade Fitment and Modification: You will be responsible for fitting, installing, and, if required, modifying blades to close tolerances. This involves precise adjustments and alignments of steam seals, locking keys, assemblies, and turning gears to ensure proper functioning and performance.
- Blade Assembly and Repair: As part of the blade assembly process, you will perform duties such as shrouding and peening, seal removal and installation, satellite installation, and drilling and fabrication of locks. These tasks are essential for completing the blade assembly accurately and efficiently.
- Turbine Testing: Following the installation and assembly of completed turbines, you will be responsible for setting up the turbines for rotational testing. This ensures that the blades and associated components are functioning correctly and meet the required performance standards.
