POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Operations plays a critical role in building and scaling our overall operations and support functions. VP will lead a dynamic team and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence, enhance efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of patient care and operational performance. This is a Sr. leadership position that requires a strategic mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of healthcare regulations and operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Lead overall UTP operations, focusing on strategy, compliance, patient care, budgetary obligations, and overall business performance. Monitor financial performance and manage operational budgets effectively.

Lead, mentor, and inspire UTP operations teams, driving a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement; provide guidance and support to UT stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs), regularly monitor metrics, and implement action plans to address any performance gaps; develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure strict adherence to SOPs and all regulatory requirements across all locations and operations.

Coordinates and leads with key stakeholders within the community, UTMC, UT, and other relevant parties driving to an overall vision of UTHealth’s success.

Responsible for leading the execution of long- and short-range planning; inclusive of financial review, consolidation and presentation of the forecasts, annual operating plans, capital plans and five-year projections.

Act as a business advisor and key business partner for UTP and UTHealth’s executive Leadership; provide collaborative insights to them in their decision-making processes.

Develop and retain knowledge and fluency in the business performance and financial drivers to advise on key business planning assumptions and opportunities. Create, maintain, and report on key business metrics to ensure business objectives are met.

Responsible for review of contracts and other business engagements; partner with stakeholders regarding growth plans and organizational relationships.

Drive business planning around revenue-generating plans and patient care.

Oversee regulatory audits and represent UTP operations in all audit processes, regulatory reviews, incident mitigation, investigatory processes, and other relevant occurrences. Provide leadership over adverse incident review and future mitigation.

Keep senior staff informed of operational activities; lead a team that develops reports for internal and external reporting needs.

Collaborate with the CPE and CFAO to develop expansion strategies, assess new market opportunities, and drive growth initiatives; Manage procurement teams, in collaboration with finance, to optimize supply chain management and cost efficiencies.

Responsible for meeting or exceeding established overall operational goals such as Patient Care, compliance, and business margins with all UTP operations; inclusive of ambulatory care, physicians, UT and UTMC stakeholders, and overall UTP functions as directed by organizational mission and led by the CPE and CFAO.

Other duties as assigned in support of the UTP and UTHealth’s success and overall organizational mission.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Skills:

Extensive experience in supervisory/managerial role, healthcare, or related field.

Demonstrated experience in meeting budgetary targets for a large operation to accurately lead a complex organization.

Demonstrated experience in regulatory and compliance matters within healthcare.

Ability to interpret and explain business plan to management and Board.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to improvement of patient care, budgetary alignment, ability to obtain operational efficiencies, and management of multiple competing stakeholders.

Proficiency in MS Office and other applicable software
