Are you passionate about precision in finance and ensuring the smooth operation of accounting processes? Vogel Alcove, a leading provider of quality early childhood programming, is searching for a dedicated Finance and Accounting Associate to join our team.
As a Finance and Accounting Associate, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day accounting functions of our organization. You will be working closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, grant reporting and adherence to accounting standards.
This is a full-time exempt position with a salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 per year based on education and experience.

Vogel Alcove is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path towards a brighter future.
What you’ll do
- Assist in preparing and maintaining financial budgets.
- Manage the checks and deposit process.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and contribute to the month-end closing process.
- Generate contract/grant monthly reports and billings.
- Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
What will make you successful in this role (skills)
- Proficient in accounting software and data entry.
- Knowledge in MIP Accounting System and Paycor Payroll System a plus.
- Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures, including GAAP.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheets.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills for problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
