Job Purpose:
The Erection Pusher is responsible for performing all assigned tasks under the direct supervision of the Assigned Foreman while welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals in accordance with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
Description of Essential Duties:
- Work under the direct supervision of the Assigned Foreman and with team members erecting elevated water storage tanks using advanced construction knowledge and techniques in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Setup and operate erection derrick and three-drum hoist; ability to setup and operate hydraulic pump and cable-strand tank jacking system.
- Certified NCCCO operator for fixed cab (TSS) and swing cab (TLL) and demonstrate the ability to safely operate mobile rough-terrain and crawler hydraulic cranes on project sites.
- Extensive experience with common welding tools and procedures using a variety of different techniques in various positions; ability to setup and adjust welding machines to proper settings for welding process; ability to diagnose problems with welding machines and make necessary repairs.
- Achieve excellent speed of execution while maintaining x-ray quality workmanship, adjusting the welding equipment depending on the type of weld being performed.
- Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols specific to tanks; utilize math skills to calculate dimensions and weights on blueprints, sketches, or specifications.
- Apply expert knowledge of rigging and signaling practices as approved by Corporate HSE Department.
- Apply industry standard rigging techniques to safely lift/move material using heavy machinery; fit cold formed steel using key plates, bull pins, keys, shims, lifting lugs, nuts, and u bars.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and machinery; inspect material to be welded or worked on.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools, grind, and gouge metal for extended periods of time.
- Maintain an organized work area free from any unnecessary hazards associated with the work being performed.
- Perform general housekeeping and all assigned duties as directed by supervision.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assisting with training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work as directed by supervision in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
